Gracie's new look

During the last school year, I got a note from the school nurse, concerning Gracie and her beautiful eyes. I kept forgetting to get her an appointment, but a week ago, we went to see the optometrist. I soon knew that she was not going to pass the test. A week later, we headed back to the doctors office. I took this picture of Gracie outside the building.

And I took this one in the doctor's office.

Yep, my baby got my eyes. I started wearing glasses in the 3rd grade, and the nurse told me she needed her eyes examined, while she was in the 3rd grade. Strange! She had to have pink frames. We settled on these lavender/silver frames. They are kind of rectangle and look cute on her.

It is going to take some getting used to, seeing her with glasses on her face. She was amazed at how well she could see with them. She is near sighted. While the doctor was figuring out her prescription, flipping the lenses back and forth Gracie suddenly exclaimed "WOW". And he stopped. He had found it. Again when we picked up her glasses and she put them on "WOW" came out of her mouth. lol I'm glad he was able to help her see better. Gracie is happy with them and has told me that she is already used to them. She's says if people call her 4 eyes, she won't care, cause she can see, and that is all that matters. I promptly teased her and called her 4 eyes. She just giggled at me. And told me that she knew I was kidding, cause I was her mom...but I still don't think she liked it much. lol

I love glasses! I keep trying to convince the doc to give me some! lol... She looks great. :) She told me that people might call her 4-eyes, but I told her they'll only do that because they're jealous they don't get to wear them. :P

Too cute! It almost made me cry to read how much better she could see. You just never know with kids what's going on inside.
