Tony's work

Tony got called out to load a well that is producing so fast they needed him there a.s.a.p. It was a Sunday, and so the kids went to Grandma & Grandpa's house while I went with Tony. Tony was so excited to finally get some pictures of what he does at work. So, I thought I would share them with you. I didn't take any of the drive there, but some of those hills...man. Well, picture a canyon road with a drop off on one side, and now picture driving a big truck on that road. The road is also barely wide enough for the truck to fit. Yikes!!! Tony thinks it's fun. There are some roads so narrow that they have to get on the C.B. at the top and bottom to make sure no one else is coming up or down it. Then they announce that they are coming down or up. On some of the turns, his pup trailer (the back one) would just barely miss hitting the side of the hill, or dropping off, because the turns are so sharp. Of course Tony, be the pro that he is, had not a moments trouble. He enjoyed seeing my wide eyes, and laughing at me. So here is the truck at the well, in position ready to hook up:

Tony then goes over to this pipe, coming out of the appropriate tank and gets it ready to hook up to.

Now he drags one of the hoses from his truck to the pipe.

Now for an Elvis impersonation...okay so the sun is in his eyes. He has a hose that is hooked to the pump, and he attached it to something.....crud I forget. I'm sure he'll let me know what I am telling you wrong, when he reads this.

Here he is making the connection to the pipe coming out of the tank:

Next, he climbs to the top of the tanks with his gauge tape, so he can take of reading of how much oil is in the tank.

See that little bobber on the end? It drops the line into the tank. When it hits bottom, Tony pulls it back up and looks to see where the oil line topped out at. This is called his "top gauge".

Down the hole it goes:

And then he comes back down and starts the pump in his truck. The oil starts pumping out of the tank, and into the truck.

Here is the truck and the well site almost in it's entirety. There are 2 more tanks to the left. This is a pretty big site. Notice the 3 pump jacks.

Tony is now hooking up the lines to the pup trailer, so the oil can fill it as well.

Make it a snug fit!

Looks good...

Time for the paper work. Tony does his paper work while the truck is loading. He gets out to check his gauges occasionally.

Here he is on top of the lead tank, checking the level of the oil.

It's cool making money!!!

Strike a pose!

Okay, it really stinks out here! With the wind blowing the stink right at me, I had to cover my nose, or go down wind. WOW, that Sulfur stinks! If the sulfur is in to high of a concentration (parts per million) it can kill you. Right now, it's just a very strong rotten egg!

Here is the DBA and the Crude Hauler.....what a match! (Remember, I was home relaxing so I have no makeup on....think kind thoughts)

This is the placard for crude oil.

This concludes our oil adventure. We hope you enjoyed yourself. Back down the road we go!!! "Double Tanker headed down!"

Muzzle loader Deer Season Take 2

This time we took the camper and 4 wheelers and stayed in a campground called the Duchesne Tunnel Campground. I can't tell you how beautiful it is up there. I just loved it. We stayed 2 nights. So the first day we got there in the dark and set up camp enough to go to sleep, but the next morning we were off. We got on the 4 wheelers, hooked the dog to the back and headed down the trail. Take a look at those leaves! Here is TJ, me and Gracie.
And here all 4 of us are. It was so fun cheering dad on as he ran back to get in the picture. The kids thought that was pretty fun.
We were searching for the "meadow". TJ climbed a little hill to see if there was a meadow on the other side. And Tony climbed one on his 4 wheeler. Here he is coming down. Isn't it a lovely backdrop?
Time to put Arrow back in his "seat", so we can head down the yellow tree road.
Nature has it's own way of decorating. We came across this huge Christmas tree already decorated with yellow decorations!
The kids thought they'd help add a few "decorations".

Doesn't Tony just look happy and content? Three of his favorite things:Family, Hunting, and Mountains!!!
We didn't see any deer until we got back to camp! Check out the antlers on those 2!!!

Alas, we just took these 2 beauties home with us to live as our children.
We finally found a meadow later that night. No deer, but an awesome sight none the less. Here are the kids and Arrow.
Yeah, well, Arrow doesn't sit for pictures very well....Here are the kids.
And here is my hubby! The happy hunter.
FIRE! He hath created a fire...
Here is Tony's fire starting "kit":
TJ can't wait to ride all by himself. Boy..boy...boy!!!
Time for the roast. TJ likes his on fire!
Gracie doesn't look really excited, but she was having fun blackening her marshmallow!
Then come the time for our hunt to end. We didn't get a deer, but we had a great time strolling through the forest and playing in the campground. Usually, Tony pulls the camper and I pull the 4 wheeler trailer, but Tony just loves me so much that he wanted me to be able to ride with him. (mushy I know...but I just had to through it in there) So he made it so he could pull the 4 wheeler trailer behind the camper. Normally this would make me extremely nervous, but Tony being a professional driver and all...it seems to work really well. We just took the back roads and avoided the highway. Here is our "train".

Okay, I have to share this. You may think it's gross, but it's also funny. So we were out riding in the truck at one point while hunting, and I had to pee....so Tony was driving trying to find me an out house. TJ asked me why I just didn't go by a tree. I told him that I wasn't a boy and I couldn't just pee on a tree like he could. So he says, "So just squat." LOL, Tony and I laughed so hard we cried. He couldn't figure out what was so funny. He says that's what girls have to do. Okay, yes we do, but I didn't realize my 6 year old boy knew such things!

Muzzle loader Deer Hunt Day 1

Muzzle loader Deer Season started today. This year the draw was held a month earlier than usual. Tony was not aware of this, so all the tags for our area were gone. After the draw they put what was left up for sale. So, Tony ended up with a Northern tag. This is the area by Mirror Lake over to the Utah/Nevada border. Tony isn't as familiar with this area, but we decided to give it a shot. This is part of the same area where he and Ray rode their Harley's. WAY BEAUTIFUL! I was just loving the drive. The hunt started on a Wednesday. TJ has been so excited to hunt this year. So Tony decided to take him and Gracie with him on opening day. Of course I couldn't be left behind.
Here are the 2 hunter boys. They just got the gun loaded. TJ got to help! He just loves it!

We basically just drove down the road. Once in a while we took a side rode. Anyway, we ran across the Provo River Falls and decided to take a look. These 2 pictures are kind of dark. The sun wasn't cooperating, but they are of the 4 of us in front of the falls.

I am thinking about having these next 2 pictures framed to hang on my walls.
Here is my pretty girl in front of the falls:

And my handsome boy on the hill side:

TJ struck the pose and instigated the picture all by himself.
Of course when you travel with kids you have to stop every five minutes for a potty break. On one such occasion the place was actually closed, but they forgot to lock the bathroom. What kid can resist climbing on bars? Not mine!

It was a long day. The kids were tired as could be, but they had a great time.

The hunt continues this weekend! Stay posted!

Tony & Glenn 4 wheeling

Like I mentioned, Tony went 4 wheeling again last night with his friend Glenn Wall. They went up to Dry Fork again. They went to the old Lime Kiln. Glenn is quite the jokster. Here he is, probably sliding down the rocks or something. I don't know why his face is like that....

This is Glenn standing by the Kiln. That round hole type thing with the rock bricks around it, that is the Kiln.

Again he had tons of fun.
