Hope all you mothers had an excellent day Sunday. Tony had to work. So it was just me and the kids most of the day. We sorted through some pictures and reminisced. Ok...I reminisced. They just giggled. It almost made me sad to see how fast my kids are growing up. Is Gracie really going to be 10? And is TJ really 8? WOW! We sorted through school projects and writing and put them in their school scrapbooks. Then, we headed to the park to play and take some pictures. I put the pics in a slide show below.

Baseball 2010
Yep, it's that time again. TJ had his first baseball game on Saturday. His team this year is the Mariners. He played pitching position Saturday and fielded the ball and got 2 outs. He is right by the pitching machine in this picture.

And here he is going after one of the balls that came his way.

And here he is rounding 3rd. Smiling big!

His team won. I'm not sure of the final score. But they did really well. At this time, it's more about fun than scores. lol Which is fine with me. Then of course we had to have a hot dog.

Riding
Gracie & TJ have been begging to be taken to the local riding mountain, to ride their 4 wheeler or motorcycle. Gracie decided last year, that she enjoys to ride her 4 wheeler. So we loaded them up and hauled the to the area. Gracie was a little tentative and wanted to follow TJ everywhere. But she had fun. TJ was, of course, to fast for her most of the time. He was enjoying the hills. Here is Gracie on her 4 wheeler.

Gracie asking TJ to slow down so she can follow him. lol

TJ zooming past.

After they were done riding. They decided to try to climb the bigger hill.

And they made it. They had to stop every 6 steps, but they made it!!!

Piano Recital
Gracie had her first piano recital. She was nervous but did great. She played Ode to Joy. She has been taking lessons since the first of the year. She seems to really enjoy it. Here she is waiting for the recital to start.

Gracie & her teacher Melissa.

Anticipating her turn. Can you see the fear? Poor kid. Don't know why she was so afraid.

Here she is introducing herself and what she will play.

And here she is poised to play. I think her mother needs to take her to get her glasses tightened up.

She did a great job and we are very proud of her.

Space Derby
Apparently, they have more than just the Pinewood Derby. This Year TJ got to participate in the Space Derby. We got to make a rocket and then race it against others.
So here is TJ and his black rocket with flames. (and his cute little uniform)

First race, we almost got to the end. You can see it hanging on the line next to him.

Then we took some time out to make a paper airplane.

And we raced again, and made it all the way to the end. Most rockets didn't make it to the end. You wouldn't think it would be hard, but it was amazing. Most just didn't make it.

TJ learned to sand with the grain of the wood and cut little grooves for the wings and glue everything. And his favorite part...painting it.

Stuff
Gracie's friend in the neighborhood has horses. And my kids are both nuts for animals. So when Gracie was invited to ride horses, she jumped at the chance. She has since rode with them a few times and absolutely loves it. Here she is on one of the horses, with her friend Maddy trying to hold him in place.

They even let TJ sit on him for a minute.

TJ has a fascination with dragons. He has many books about them. He got a book for Christmas that was about dragons, and had little 3D puzzles of them.

And here is my little Mario. TJ had his 6 month check up at the dentist. After the kids are done, they get a token to get a prize out of the machine in the lobby. Why don't adults get one? I want a mustache too!

Spring Arrived.....FINALLY!
I am so happy to see green on the ground and in the trees! YAY Spring! Tony got the Harley out and took the kids for a spin. Then we went for a ride as well. Still a little chilly, but we just wear our gear and we are good.

Catching up
So, it's been too long. I'm going to throw a bunch of updates into a couple blogs and try to get back into the groove. My conversion project at work is almost done. So hopefully I can get my life back! lol
January was TJ's birthday. He turned 8. We went to the bowling alley to celebrate. He had a basketball cake. And he helped me make basketball invitations. Most of his friends came. They had a lot of fun.

Once TJ turned 8, he got to start scouts. He was so excited. In February he was awarded his Bobcat. This is all new to me. I got to paint his face! There is a story behind the colors and their placement but I don't recall it now.

TJ also got is Blue Belt in Karate, in February.

Both kids were doing tumbling. Here are a few pictures of Gracie.
