Kids get Yellow Belts

The kids were told a week ago, Tuesday, that they would get to test for their Yellow Belts next Tuesday. Afterward, they frequently told me that they couldn't wait until Tuesday, so they could get their Yellow Belts. They were so excited. Finally, Tuesday came and they got to test. Gracie was a little nervous, because there was one move she couldn't quite remember, as you see in the video, but she remembered and both kids did very well in their test. The video is of the entire test. It's a little long, but kind of fun to watch. TJ is in yellow & Gracie is in pink.

And here they are, afterward, with their new belts. The teacher didn't have any small ones, so TJ's is long, but hey. So, watch out for these to yellow belt kids.

New Author

I have found a new author that I like. I have only read one book, but I found that I liked it quite well, and look forward to reading the other 2 she has published. She is an LDS author. Her name is Kay Lynn Mangum. The book I read was When the Bough Breaks. It has some sadness within it, but keeps you interested to find out what will happen to this family. So, if you're looking for something to read...maybe you would enjoy this, or the previously mentioned book, Hunger Games.

This is a local author. Her mother and my mother are friends. Kay Lynn Mangum's mother gave a copy of this book to my mom, so she could get a recording made for her to "read". She then sent the book my way.

Enjoy! Love to Read!!!

Spell-a-thon

It's time for the spell-a-thon at school. However, Tony did not yet know this. TJ came home from school the day he got the list of words, and the instructions, and promptly went to his dad and asked, "How much will you pay me to learn these words?" Well, Tony of course was shocked and replied that he wouldn't pay him anything. He needed to just learn them. TJ was crushed and cried that they wouldn't get new monkey bars then!!! Tony was confused, of course. And as the two talked further, Tony uncovered the reason for the request to pay him for learning those words.

I had a good laugh when Tony told me the story, when I got home from work. So, we will be helping TJ to get new monkey bars for the school. He's definitely helped to wear them out!
