Gracie's new look

During the last school year, I got a note from the school nurse, concerning Gracie and her beautiful eyes. I kept forgetting to get her an appointment, but a week ago, we went to see the optometrist. I soon knew that she was not going to pass the test. A week later, we headed back to the doctors office. I took this picture of Gracie outside the building.

And I took this one in the doctor's office.

Yep, my baby got my eyes. I started wearing glasses in the 3rd grade, and the nurse told me she needed her eyes examined, while she was in the 3rd grade. Strange! She had to have pink frames. We settled on these lavender/silver frames. They are kind of rectangle and look cute on her.

It is going to take some getting used to, seeing her with glasses on her face. She was amazed at how well she could see with them. She is near sighted. While the doctor was figuring out her prescription, flipping the lenses back and forth Gracie suddenly exclaimed "WOW". And he stopped. He had found it. Again when we picked up her glasses and she put them on "WOW" came out of her mouth. lol I'm glad he was able to help her see better. Gracie is happy with them and has told me that she is already used to them. She's says if people call her 4 eyes, she won't care, cause she can see, and that is all that matters. I promptly teased her and called her 4 eyes. She just giggled at me. And told me that she knew I was kidding, cause I was her mom...but I still don't think she liked it much. lol

Boating After the Reunion

After the Reunion we headed to the lake. Ray & Kasi joined us. We went to Starvation. It rained on us for the first little while we were there, but it soon cleared up enough for us to have some fun. Ray decided to try the knee board. He's trying to get up.....

Is that a foot?

I think that's a life jacket.

WOO HOO!!! He did it. After that, he had it down and could keep getting up, thanks to his wonderful instructor...ME!

What the heck?

Oh...it's a cold little boy.

Here is me showing Ray how it's done! Again with the weird faces. I just give up. I'm concentrating on jumping, not pictures.

Normally, I would not post this picture, because holy double chin!!!!, but since it is pretty funny with the hair...here it is. Electricity in the air? The wind? No clue...it's just my hair okay!

Gracie enjoying the ride.

Ray.

TJ & Kasi.

Tony was there too, not sure why we don't have pictures. I even got him up on the wake board again. We need to get bigger boots for Ray, so he can try the wake board next time. Thanks for going Ray & Kasi...it was a blast!

Johnson Reunion 2009

Last weekend was the Johnson Reunion. (Tony's mom's side) This years reunion was held up at Grandpa's farm. It was a carnival theme. I think everyone had a good time. I know my kids did. Here is the welcoming sign made by Kasi.

We had some family pictures taken while up there. It was towards the end of a fun filled day however, and I look less than wonderful...lol. And the wind was blowing so my hair looks goofy, but oh well. It turned out to be a cute picture anyway. Here is my little brood.

And the Olsen clan: Kim & Julene in the middle. Kasi & Ray on the right. Jennifer & Steven on the left, with their littlest one in Gracie's lap. And Me & Tony in the middle.

And the whole Johnson Clan. I'm not even going to attempt to name all of these, it'd just be confusing. lol

We had the pool rented Saturday evening, and everyone enjoyed the time to cool off from a hot day. Check out TJ doing an X jump off the diving board. That's one nice thing about renting the pool...they let them jump off with their life jackets on. When you just go to swim during the day, they don't allow that, and they don't allow you to catch them, so they just can't go, which drives my kids nuts. They are little water bugs. Gracie didn't go off the diving board for some reason this time.

Here's Gracie...

and TJ....

Earlier in the day, the kids (and Bill) cooled off with a slip and slide. TJ went a little sideways on this shot.

Gracie doing the knee slide.

Then Bill and Treavor decided to chuck the kids down the slide. Here are Tracer & TJ.

And Keaton, Summer & Gracie

That was a riot. They had so much fun!
Grandpa and Laverne had a dart game for the kids. After the kids all popped some of the balloons, the big kids got turns too. TJ aims for a balloon.

Gracie keeping her eye on the dart.

The kids won money when they popped the balloons. WOO HOO!
Leah did a fishing pond for the kids. They each had to find their "worm" in the bucket and throw it into the pond. They caught some big fish!

Grandpa the Elvis Cowboy?

They had a bunch of these hats with different animals on them. We played the game where you have to guess what you are by asking yes/no questions. I caught this cute little butterfly!

Here is my precious little Gracie. Each sisters family (grandpa had 3 girls) had a different color bandanna to wear. Julene's family was blue.

My niece Summer. I nice shot if I say so myself.

And my little monkey TJ.

Grandpa had built a carnival ride even! The kids loved it and constantly wanted to ride.

The ride!!!

There were over 600 pictures taken at the reunion, I am not showing all, but here is a slide show of a lot of fun shots.

Master TJ

On Tuesday TJ tested for his Purple Belt in Karate! He did it!!!! TJ is now a purple belt. Way to go son. He was very excited, of course. And we are very proud of him.
He told his teacher he wasn't quitting until he was a black belt. His teacher told him that maybe he could teach classes when he got older.

Boating

Yesterday was HOT! So after work we planned to go out on the lake. Gracie had a party at the swimming pool with her Tumbling class, so she didn't go with us. You may have noticed that our niece Summer is out for the week, so we took her and TJ and Tony and I and our friend Glenn again. We went up to Sandwash...which Summer thought was a funny name and TJ thought it should be Rockwash. lol Anyway...first up was Tony on the wake board. I had Glenn take pictures, but he didn't hold the button long enough, so all the pictures he thought he got, he didn't. Darn it! Next time. I got Tony up a couple times. He tried again right before we left, and of course I couldn't do it that time. I have NO clue! But, here he is ready to go.

I rode the knee board and tried to smile...now I think I look goofy. What to do?

Here is Glenn up on the wake board. I was running the camera, so we got shots of him! lol

Summer and TJ trying to get in the cold water.

You can't see us, but that is Summer, me and TJ on the tube. We had fun. The kids giggled the whole time. At first we started out slow, but then Tony decided to throw us around a bit. The kids laughed and laughed while I tried to hang on for dear life but not squish them. I succeeded, and only got hit in the head at the end. lol

Camping in Dry Gulch

This weekend was spent camping up in Dry Gulch. My family, my mom, Tony's parents and our niece Summer all had a nice/hot time up there. I think we all got bored at one point or another. Not sure what happened to the fun of camping, but we seem to have lost it lately. The boat is so tempting on hot days. But, we had fun and relaxed a lot. Gracie did a lot of reading and hiding in campers. Thus I didn't get any pictures of her. Darn it.

Tony's dad was drawing a little bit, and TJ wanted to try his hand at it too. Here he is drawing a deer. I was trying to capture him with his tongue out...his concentration look, but he was moving it so much, I missed it. I love to watch him concentrate like that.

Tony and TJ shot .22 rifles for a while, until Tony accidentally locked the little .22...and that was that for TJ. Who'd of thought to bring the key? Not me! They got a lot of shooting in before however, and they both enjoyed it. It was funny to watch everyone jump every time a shot went off! The dogs didn't like it much either. lol

We went on a short little 4 wheeler ride. Here are Tony & TJ riding.

And Summer and I. I tried twice, but couldn't get a picture of her with her eyes open. LOL! And my camera was dying, so I didn't want to keep trying...she's adorable with her eyes shut still.

Woo Woo...good looking! Yep, that's my hubby and I love him lots. Obviously he was less than thrilled to have his picture taken, but he humored me.

Summer and TJ went on a Snipe hunt. They clapped their hands and hit sticks together trying to lure one in, but the hunt was unsuccessful. Next time!!!

Tony's mom even took a run on the 4 wheeler! She will kill me for posting these pictures, but it's just so fun to see her doing this kind of stuff, I had to share it. Sorry mom....still love me?

Yeah, she was a little nervous in this picture....which I knew she would be...so I had to capture it. hee hee

Look at that face! He was coming at me fast...trying to scare me, but I stood my ground. I know better than to honestly think he would run me over. He loves me too much...and who would cook for him? (yeah, I don't cook much anyway..but hey)

Lots of fun. Lots of reading! Which is great with me. I think we all had a good time...but I think it's time for a new place to explore next time.
