This year was a little bit bust, as far as hunting goes. First, Tony and I put in for deer hunts. I drew out for rifle deer, he DID NOT draw out for muzzle loader. What?!? Then we bought our Elk tags. Me rifle, him muzzle loader. Unfortunately, with the time of my surgery, I pretty much missed my hunts. I got to go for a bit of the deer hunt, but couldn't really pack a rifle. So we road hunted. Saw some doe, but not bucks. TJ road in the back of the truck, keeping his eyes open. I'm sure he was freezing, but he is a trooper.
While Gracie and I were sporting the orange hats inside the cab. Oh hunter orange, how sexy you are!
For the Muzzle loader Elk hunt, Tony and TJ left at 5 am on opening day. Ugh! They are true hunters. They saw some big bulls, but weren't quite close enough to them. But they didn't give up. Still, no dice. But, it's still fun to spend the time together.
Today is the last day of the hunt. So, I guess those Elk are safe for another year!

School Project
I remember building playdoh dinosaurs, more than once, for a school project. Well, TJ had to make a diorama this year. He had to depict a Utah Climate. He chose a dry desert. So, we pulled out the cricut and wikipedia, so we could look up some pictures and we created our own little Utah Desert.
We had to have 4 plants and 4 animals.
So, we have the coyote, spotted skunk, a rattlesnake that I can't remember the exact name of now, and a spiny soft shelled turtle. For plants we have Pinion Pine, Desert Sunflower, Prickly Pear, and Sagebrush. Man this environment looks awful familiar!

Happy Halloween
Halloween seemed to come so fast this year. I have no idea why. I guess because I feel like we skipped Summer. We went from Spring to Fall. Man Spring was long! Oh, that was Summer too? When it was a rainy one! So fall is here and almost gone. The kids had a fun time this year looking at costumeexpress.com. Show showed them that site? Oh right, me. Dang it! Gracie wanted to be a vampire with realistic teeth, like I had a few years ago. TJ settled on a Dead City Biker. Ironically, TJ's costume had a hat with a mask. If you remember when he was Jack Sparrow, I couldn't get him to wear the hair, except for about 2 seconds to hurry and snap a picture. This costume was no different. When it got here, he tried the mask on for 2 seconds, and that was it. And he wouldn't let me put makeup on him to make him look dead either. So....his torso was a dead biker. Oh well. He had fun. His new friend in the neighborhood, Brad, hung out with us this year. Lucky for TJ, he had someone to dig out those offensive pumpkin guts. I know we all wait for that disgusted look picture, and he didn't disappoint this year. hee hee
Grandma Cordie sent the kids some Halloween houses to decorate this year. It's kind of the same idea as a gingerbread house, but its sugar cookie and not red and green. The kids had fun decorating them...and eating them.
Time to dress up! We had a long Halloween this year. As you know Halloween was on Monday. Well, apparently it's too hard for the teachers at Gracie's school to have Halloween parties on Monday. So they had to do it on the Friday before. Saturday was the ward trunk or treat. Sunday was a rest, and Monday was the real deal. Whew!
At my work, we decided to all dress up as zombies. But my friend in the room next to me, she showed up as Jane from Resident Evil....a Zombie Hunter! AHHHH! lol
Tony said he couldn't see any difference. The ER is expecting him.

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!
October 25th is one of a few specials days in our family. It's Tony's birthday. This year, his mom and sisters and I made him lasagna and a red velvet cake. Yummy! Happy Birthday Tony! We love you!
Corn Maze 2011
This year, I was a little nervous, since surgery, that I wouldn't be able to keep up the tradition of taking the kids to the corn maze, and getting hand dipped ice cream afterward. But, all of Tony's family was out and so we made the trek, and I was fine. Tony even came with us! WOO HOO! lol We got lost in the maze, but we found our way out, thanks to some quick thinking kids. They're great leaders.
We got some cute little pumpkins at the patch. My kids have grand plans for them. While on the hay ride back from the pumpkin patch, Violet performed a little number for us:
Then we headed to the local store to get some hand dipped ice cream. YUM!
