The other day, while working I think, Tony came upon a buck deer. He actually sees a lot of wildlife while working, since he goes out so early in the morning. Unfortunately, he never seems to have his camera. This time however, he did. I'm not sure where this was, but it's a nice looking buck, and there's a couple doe in there.

Work Pranks
We had a former employee who hung up a bunch of different sayings, sporadically around the walls. They were not all spelled correctly nor with great grammar, and they were so small on huge white walls. So, our boss asked me and the 2 girls in the room next to me, to take them down and figure something else out, or leave it with nothing. So, when he was gone last week, we got all 5 of them and hung them on the walls in his office. When he came back, I was at the grocery store, grabbing a sandwich...and this is what I came back to.
I couldn't get much done with those computer screens!
(Yes, my desk is a mess. That means I'm very efficient and busy...so leave me alone!) :)
Fall Progam
The first grade had a Fall Program a few days ago. TJ's class did colors. He was yellow.
Then they did a song with bells. The sound is low, so you might have to turn up your speakers. And of course it's not high quality, since it's from my phone...but it turned out okay.
The closing song included all the first grade. They sung a song about it being fall. This one, you really can't tell what they are singing. But I'm posting it anyway, so TJ can see it. He did a really good job. He kept peeking out to make sure I was there and watching. Then he'd get this little shy smile. LOL It was SO cute.
Love you son! You did a great job!
Manet Boy add on
I have a loner phone, and couldn't figure out how to get the pictures off of it. I finally got them today. So, I had to share this picture from the Primary Children's same day surgery recovery area. When asked if we could use the bathroom, we were pointed in the right direction and told we could take our pick. This is what I saw, and I thought it was so funny and cute...well I took a picture.

Magnet Boy...The FINALE!!!
So, Tuesday morning we had to be at Primary Children's at 6:30 in the morning for TJ's demagnetization. TJ was a little nervous, but he held up very well. Here he is in the car just before we got there. Again, the weird things my camera does with the lights. Bizarre! Poor guy was pretty tired, so were we.

Of course Primary Children's is set up well for kids. Here are Tony & TJ sitting in the first waiting room. There were toys and a big fish tank. Tony thought I was embarrassing for taking pictures....thus the look!

The Anesthetist came and talked to us about putting him to sleep, and possibly pulling his loose tooth. They figure they're already going in for one foreign object, we don't want to make it two. He told TJ that he was going to breathe some medicine to make him fall asleep, and he got to choose which flavor he wanted. He chose Blueberry, which surprised me. So, the Anesthetist took us away not long after we got there. We went down a couple long halls, and then TJ was told to give us some kisses, and we had to part ways. Tony and I went to waiting room 3. Now, what's up with the parents waiting room? Who says I don't want to play games and color and everything? There was a TV, but that was it. Okay, so I had a book to read and I was fine.
We were of course starving, and so was TJ. Tony knew that I had been wanting to go to the Olive Garden, so he wanted to go there. I wasn't sure that we should be taking TJ there, but he was doing so well. He was still sleepy on the way, and when we got there, he needed to go to the bathroom. Once in there, he decided he needed to throw up. After that, we decided we should not stay. So, we went out to the car and decided what we wanted to eat. I went back in and ordered to go. As we were waiting, TJ started playing games and talking animated, like his usual self. We sat in the car and ate. TJ was just like nothing had happened. I was amazed. No way was he totally over this already! I took this picture of the toothless little boy. Goofy kid!

After they did their paper work and called us back, he had to change into hospital clothes. He even got to wear pants. WOW! He was pretty excited about the socks. After they took all his vitals, we went to the 2nd waiting room. Here, there were toys and TV and 5 game stations. TJ headed straight for the Nintendo. Spider Man was in the machine. We spent most of the time trying to figure out how to make it work. HA! Never played an X-Box before. When the doctors came, we had to take the remote away, to get him to concentrate.

The surgery was supposed to take 1/2 hour. After an hour had passed, Tony started getting nervous. I was wondering if they were having a hard time because it was pretty big and slippery, but who knew. So I went up and asked the lady at the desk there if something was going on. She called down to somewhere, and was told they were just bringing TJ out to recovery. Whew!
Soon the surgeon came in to speak to us. It was as I had suspected. They had a hard time trying to grab it because it was so slippery. The doctor told us they almost had to go find someone who was really good at those games where you have to grab a toy with a claw. LOL So he handed me a cup with a tooth and a magnet. Soon after that, we got a phone call allowing one of us to come to recovery. Only one person is allowed. So I headed down there. TJ was already opening his eyes and moving around. He wanted "this thing out" of his arm...the IV. So, they got him ready to head to a room. Meanwhile, another kid 2 beds over started beeping like crazy and a code 3 went over the screens and such. Doctors swarmed in. I knew they had it under control...everyone was calm. But...I'm so sensitive anymore...I must have looked alarmed. The nurse looked at me and told me it was okay. They are really prepared for this stuff and know exactly what to do. Okay, my eyes are tearing up by now. I'm thinking, the kid is fine, it's not even my kid, and I'm about ready to cry! Am I a boob or what?
So, we headed to a recovery area. Can't call it a room, because it was a huge room with curtains dividing sections off for each bed. Here the little guy is sleeping of the meds.

And here is his dad talking to him after he got there.

Isn't that a sweet picture? That big green thing? That's "green", TJ's dog he got to take into surgery with him. They even put a hospital bracelet on him too, so everyone knew who he was and who he belonged to.

I think we were only in recovery for about 1/2 hour and TJ was drinking little sips of water and started really waking up. He started watching cartoons, and the nurses decided it was time to let him go. They sent him off with a root beer slushy and a nice wheelchair.
We were of course starving, and so was TJ. Tony knew that I had been wanting to go to the Olive Garden, so he wanted to go there. So, we headed home. TJ watched movies and giggled and played his Gameboy and just acted like nothing had happened. Tony and I are of course exhausted. I am SO happy that he recovered so well. Wish I recovered that fast!!!
So, here is the object of all this drama. It was thicker than I even remembered. There is a nickel sitting next to it.

So, that is that. TJ is just fine. He had a tooth for the tooth fairy to come for and a big ol' magnet to show off. When he started coming around, that was the first thing he wanted to see. "Where's my magnet?"
We hope you have all enjoyed the adventures of Magnet Boy. While it has been adventurous, I'm glad it has come to a close. I'm sure many more adventures await us in the future!

Magnet Boy....the next episode
We got a phone call Thursday from the pediatrician. They talked with the pediatric surgeon at Primary Children's. They sent them the x-ray. And the surgeon decided that TJ needs to have a scope to remove the magnet.
They have scheduled him to have the scope Tuesday. We don't know time or anything. TJ is a little nervous about it. However, he doesn't think about it unless someone brings it up. So.....he tells me not to talk about it again. Ha!
Stay tuned for the finale of Magnet Boy, coming to your screen next week.

Magnet Boy...update 2
Apparently I was wrong. Our pediatrician says the magnet is still in his stomach. So he is talking to a pediatric surgeon today. Meanwhile, TJ feels fine. No side effects. As soon as I find out more, I'll post.

"I want my mom"
I was sitting at work and at about 4:45 today I got a phone call from home. Gracie was telling me that TJ was crying because he wanted his mom. So, I talked to TJ, who was crying hard. He said, "I want my mom!" I asked him if something was wrong and he told me no, he just wanted me to come home. I calmed him down as I walked out the door to head home. I called a few minutes later and he was still crying, just not quite as hard. I pulled in the garage and walked in the door. He was standing there with his arms outstretched. I proceeded to pick him up and hug him. As I walked in I asked what was wrong. He still said nothing, he just wanted his mom. Gracie told me that he went to the bathroom, in my bathroom and came out crying. So I asked if something hurt him or if he didn't feel good. Still no. Did something happen at school? Well, yes, the kids were mean to him and called him names today. The crying intensified. I asked who..he told me. The kid had called him dumb butt. (grrrr) So we talked about it. I gave him some pointers and got him laughing.
Still, I am confused. Why would my bathroom make him all the sudden bust out crying. This was out right sobbing! Not just a few tears. He tells me, "the kid called me names mom, but I also just wanted my mom." *SOB* Holy cow, tear me to pieces. Nothing tugs at your heart so bad as your child just wanting his mom. So, we sat and talked for a while. Then we started making dinner....his favorite, tuna casserole. As I walk away for a moment to do something, he calls me and says he wants me over by him. Later while he is starting to eat, and I'm dishing mine, he tells me again that he wants me to hold him.
So, he's not sick or hurt or sad or scared or anything else I could come up with. I don't know. Just wants his mom I guess, which I'm fine with, I just hope that he is okay. *sigh*

Magnet Boy...update
I took TJ in yesterday for an x-ray to see if we still have a magnetic boy, or not. Unfortunately the magnet is still there. However, it is not apparently in his stomach anymore. If you'll remember from the previous x-ray, it was on his left side. Now it is on his right. I haven't heard anything from the doctor yet as to where to go from here. I'm guessing he will tell me to come back in a few days and check again, but we'll see. Stay tuned for the next episode of Magnet Boy!

Fall Social
This year, we had a fall social the day after Halloween. Costumes were welcome, but my clan didn't get dressed up. Which is SO unlike me...but okay I don't have an excuse...just didn't. Anyway...Tony's cousin has a new baby, so we took turns holding the cute little boy.

We celebrated 2 birthday's as well. Happy Birthday Bill and Montana!
Other activities included a bean bag toss and pinata. We ate YUMMY soup! Ham chowder, Broccoli & Cheese and Minestrone. All home made! Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about how good they were. Thanks to everyone who made it possible! We enjoyed ourselves!

Halloween
Happy Halloween! Okay so it's past, but still. I hope everyone had a spooky time.
Of course, I have fun every Halloween dressing up along with my kids. They think it's neat that I dress up. They especially like it when I come to their parties and they can claim me as their mom. Not very many mom's are dressed up usually. Tony thinks I'm a dork, but he's used to it. LOL. So this years costume? Well, I had a hard time this year, but inspiration hit the night before. BIKER CHICK!!! Here I am at work with two co-workers. Me (biker), Jen (crazy cat lady), Christy (80's chick):

Here is me and the crazy cat lady Jen:

And here is a group shot of a bunch of us at work. There were more dressed up, but they missed this picture.

Moving on....I left work and went to help the kids get ready for their Halloween parties, that afternoon. Here is Gracie, the black cat:

And TJ, the Knight:

This year the kids got to trick or treat with their cousins, Summer and Violet. There were a lot of fun houses this year. One had a haunted tunnel for them to walk through. One had a giant spider on the roof, with neon spider webs everywhere. One had a kid inside a coffin, and you had to step up to the coffin in order to get your treat. And at one house, there were tons of decorations and moving pieces. The kids went up to the door, and nobody answered, as the kids came back down the walk, a "statue" in the drive way started to float towards them. As it got right up to them it said "Trick or Treat?" The kids weren't sure what to do. I told them to say trick or treat, and the lady gave them a treat. Tons of fun for the kids and the adults too. It was quite fun to see the kids reactions. They are just old enough not to be scared to death, but still unsure.
